Your Ref 48602 14th Oct 2008
Attn:- Ruth Moushabeck
Dear Ms Moushabeck, I'm sending you this e-mail to let you know that the book that I ordered on
13th Oct , "From Little Towns in a Far Land we came", has arrived, safe and sound and in good order,
in our morning mail. My keen interest in this book stems from the fact that my great grandfather,
Malcolm John McNiven, and his wife Sibella MacLean, emigrated from Scotland, on the George Fyfe,
from the port of Tobermory on the 16th Sept 1839, arriving in Port Jackson (Sydney) 23rd Jan 1840.
Malcolm and Sibella settled in the Camden area, south west of Sydney, whilst the other members of
the MacLean family settled in the Geelong - Western District area of Victoria before continuing on to
the South Island of New Zealand. The book was written by Helen Sandwith, whose signature is on the
front endpaper, for the Centenary of Canterbury N. Z.
Thank you for making it possible for me to obtain a copy of a book I knew about but never dreamed I
would ever own. To have signed copy is truly the icing on the cake.
Thanking you again I remain Yours Sincerely, Malcolm Michael McNiven.
I know it may seem childish but you cannot imagine the excitement in the
simple pleasure of, first, finding what you are looking for and then waiting
for it to arrive in the post! If it happens to be a boring day in the
office at Plurabelle just remember the pleasure you are giving to people
all over the world!
Thanks so much! I'm really impressed with your service. The book arrived
this afternoon in fine condition. My friend is thrilled to be getting it as
he had been looking for it for years. He couldn't even find it in the
library.
When I searched for it on the Internet, yours was the only copy that
surfaced. Technology is a beautiful thing!
Sir John Clapham's Economic History of Modern Britain arrived today,
well-wrapped as promised and delivered in in a wonderful bag
labelled, "Royal Mail, Great Britain." My dear wife asks me to say
that she is very impressed with your packing skills. Many thanks for
taking such care.
An extra treat was included in volume one: The Times Obituary of Sir
Michael Postan, who succeeded Sir John in the chair of Economic
History. I have and have read a number of his writings, but had not
been able to find a good summary of his biography until I opened "The
Early Railway Age" and found the obit tucked inside the front cover.
(Kamuela, Hawaii)
Book arrived all safe and sound.
Very many thanks for such a prompt service. Delighted!
Thank you delighted with book - (
have wanted a copy for a long time)
- and very well packed
hello,
i have just received my informal introduction to algol 68 (via abebooks) this morning.
the book is in brilliant condition (better than me) and your service was really quick!
i am impressed.
many thanks.
Many thanks for responding to my earlier email. Your explanation makes perfect sense, and not being able to achieve consistent representation about your products in a context that is outside your control must be very frustrating.
I am perfectly happy with my purchase. It was to replace a copy bought in 1976 and lent to someone who may not return it -- the new copy is indistinguishable except that it is in slightly better condition.
Thank you again for dealing with the order promptly and efficiently.
Hi,
Ordered from England on Wednesday, received the book in Sweden on Friday: that's
what I call service! Many thanks!
I wish to thank you. First, this booklet came here to NJ - USA much quicker than expected. And second, more importantly (and this may seem a little much), thanks for the great care in packaging. If it had not been taped off to a board -- as was done -- it doubtless would have gotten mangled in transit. I've bought many books via ABE and haven't yet seen such scrupulousness in protecting the goods. Most vendors are much less careful, if not downright careless.
Dear Plurabelle,
I saw the book on the Web on Sunday.
I phoned you on Monday.
The book, beautifully packed, arrived at 10.30 this morning (Tuesday).
Many thanks for this excellent service. Takes the waiting out of wanting.
