Description: 271p 304p, two volumes bound in one, hardback, plain cloth binding, light library markings from a Cambridge college, Latimer Jackson bookplate, very good, first edition. This copy has attached to endpaper a (post)card from the author (13 lines, ALS), in his own hand, in which he profusely apologizes for not yet having sent a photo of himself to Latimer Jackson. He also promises to entice his collegue Weiss to get his portrait done, reporting information which was received from the photographer, who presueably provided the service of portait cards to members of the university. Interesting glimpses from the business of academic exchange between Cambridge and Heidelberg in around 1906
