Description: 12 volumes bound in 5 large full calf volumes, bound in black ribbed calf with gilt arms (of the University of Cambridge) to front and back, gilt frame to boards, 5 bands to spine, two burgundy title labels to spine, binding in excellent condition, all hinges perfect, text excellent, in a variety of textual and typographical arrangements, this set was given to a Cambridge college in the memory of John Sharpe (Rector of Gissing, Norfolk), as stated by a donation bookplate dated 1913 and written in a very decorative hand. The librarian has applied a blindstamp to endpaper or title page, and attached three tiny paper shelfmarks to spine, and has stored the set for more than one century in optimal conditions.
