Author: Bjork, David K

Publisher: Not Published 1930.

Description: We have here a series of typescripts, approx from 1950, with the name Alexandro O'Reilly and the year 1769 appearing repeatedly in the text. It is not clear how these typescript were produced, and if they were produced with access to the originals. There are some indications that a hired correspondent (B Ribas ?) created these transcripts in a Spanish Archive. The text is in Spanish and related to Cuba if I am not mistaken. The quantity I would estimate 200 pages. They were presumably produced in the pursuit of some academic work. In addition a folder entitled "New Documents from Ribas" which transcribes 86-6-7, 80-1-6 comprising approx 80 pages of typescript, also hand-drawn copy of tables, also a folder "Royal Cedulas of Appointments in Louisiana" 84p typescript reproducing 86-5-21 in its entirety it seems. The fact that David K Bjork published on "Alexander O'Reilly and the Spanish occupation of Louisiana, 1769 - 1770" in the 1930ies leads us to list this material under his name.
