Author: Bates, Oric

Publisher: London: Macmillan 1914.

Description: xxii 298p 12 plates, many illustrations, plans and maps throughout, frontispiece with tissueguard, large folding map in pocket at back, appendices, dark cloth firm, spine tight and binding strong, top edge gilt, very light library markings, circular gilt lettering to front board, first edition. Slight flaw in this copy in so far as the surface of the buckram cloth has started to lose its shine on both boards (still intact on spine) and shows some change of colour (affects gilt design to front). There may also be the slightest hint of old exposure to humidity by the evidence of a very slight curvature to the front board and some irregularity on the front endpaper. Otherwise an excellent copy of a important production
