Author: Curtis, John

Publisher: London: British Museum 1997.

Description: 248p large format paperback, this is a new copy virtually without any traces of use. This volume publishes the reports of excavations carried out between 1984-5 at the site of Khirbet Khatuniyeh in northern Iraq. The excavations reveal a remarkable amount of information on the various historical periods in the area around the upper Tigris between Mosul and the Turkish-Iraq border and help to complete the picture of the Assyrian period outside the main Assyrian cities. The book includes both a catalogue and a detailed discussion and scientific analysis of the pottery found at the site, in addition to chapters on the animal bones, shells and herpetology. There is also a summary of the book's contents in Arabic.
