Description: Small book with fold over cover with numbered thumb register, organised in 27 sections, each section with a title page (Batts, Dress Goods, Silks, Black Goods, Ginghams, Domestic Prints, Upholstery, Cloths, Blankets, Flannels, Shawls, Cloaks etc) and fowllowed by 5 - 10 empty pages. Many of these sections have been re-purposed with a MS header and date, and list expenses for a wide variety of goods, the numbers bought and the total cost. It looks like an annual inventory of a general goods store from 1887. The MS titles are: Notions, Stationary, Dry Goods, Hosiery, Clothing, Hats & Caps, Boots and Shoes, Gloves and Mittens, Hardware, Harness Goods, Furniture, Tin Wares, Groceries, Crookery, followed by a overview of the annual accounts for this unkown business. The remaining sections of the book are filled with accounting details related to a bakery business and are dated 1889 to 1895. Invoice of Butter Goods, Flour, Salt, Egg in monthly installments, detailing quantity, qualities, and prices, followed by a list of Obligation Notes (the family name Bingham appears multiple times in this list, and a list of total assets and total indebtedness. The last two pages with entries have a list of “Out of Town Landowners” with locations in Pennsylvania: Parkersbury, Eagle Grove, Cedar Rapids, Storm Lake, Lake Park, Wenona Ill, Sioux Rapids, etc. The binding is a bit stretched, top board detaching, else very good
