Description: 17 large volumes in black cloth with gilt lettering (silver lettering for the Supplemental Nights), top edges gilt, frontispiece with tissue guard, titles printed red and black, additional plates, this set numbered 251 (of 1000), "Robynne" bookplate (Red Robin) to volume 1, 2 and 8, head of spine for volumes 1 is torn but present, one cloth hinge precarious (Vol 7), a few cloth hinges soft but inner hinges mostly firm, a few corners rubbed, no names or stamps or annotations to the text seen, a solid set. The Supplemental Nights present a better spine optically, while the initial 10 volumes have spines rather dull and faint, front edges of a few volumes are a little dull, one case of rubbing away cloth from 10cm of front board edge, this set is a bit of an old lady, old auntie, substantial but now longer part of the beauty contest.
