Description: A mighty piece of music publishing, pages 36 cm high, bilingual French and German in parallel columns, not printed from type but from plates (D & C 4170), original and faulty in many ways: With multiple layers of pencil notes, presents in original single sections, was never bound, with attendant potential of loss (not collated), lacking title page, parts 1 - 3 seem complete, then follows a title for part 5, a pencil note states that pages 595 - 874 are missing, and a concluding part (Eight) without title paginated 875 - 1002 is present again, lacking final 200 pages. A clear case of WAF ("with all faults"), caveat emptor, and watch the rarity of this item
